Our Programs and Services

Federation of Youth Services currently operates seven (7) programs:

Employability Skills & Financial Management Training Program
Provides job readiness skills and financial investment skills to 15-20 adolescent youth, male and female, aged 14-20. Per youth, nine week sessions as a result of collaboration between Federation of Youth Services and the Detroit Entrepreneurship Institute.

Parenting & Child Development Training Program is designed with a goal of providing 16-25 year old parents with the skills needed to provide emotional nurturance and developmental enrichment for their children.  The program, projected to serve 30 families each year, will be in collaboration between the Federation of Youth Services and local area universities.

Teen Parent Support Housing Services Outreach
Provide services for up to 250 young mothers and fathers up to 20 years of age.  The purpose of the program is to provide community services resources, reduce infant mortality and decrease second and third pregnancies and to produce employable young people capable of caring for themselves and their children.

Transitional Living Supervised Independent Living Program
Provides housing boarder parents or apartments to youth aged 16-19, who demonstrate a willingness to attend school, work part-time and are socially responsible.

Volunteer Program  Involves volunteers that are willing to share their knowledge and expertise to make a commitment in caring for youth and families and devoting their time to enhance commitment.

Williams House Residential Program
Provides residential treatment for up to twenty-eight (28) adolescent females, aged 12-18 who may or may not be pregnant and who has been removed from their parent's home due to abuse, neglect or delinquency.

Wraparound Program  is a planning process for children and families at risk of placement.  The process can be applied to children and youth living in their own home (placement prevention), living with relatives and relative placements, or in foster care with permanency goals such as family reunification with birth family, legal guardianship, adoption processing and finalization or stabilization of birth or adoptive families.  It is family-centered, strength-based and needs driven.  It is a process based on agency collaboration and working with community resources and services.
